How I Got Started With My Internet Business? My 25k Blueprint Revealed

After months of development and hard work my first two websites failed miserably and here’s what I did next…

I closely watched what the top internet earners are doing. I subscribed to their mailing lists. I stopped listening to what they said and I started watching what they were doing. I tracked them inside out. I tracked many top internet marketers of that time and I noticed a similar trend going on.

In fact I followed top online marketers till the end. What kind of products they were creating, how they are selling those products and how they are setting up their websites. This is what I realized. I had tons of information in my head and I knew everything. The only thing I was doing wrong is not taking my system till the end. I was applying just 30% of the system and knowledge I had in my head. To earn money and make my website successful I have to apply 100% of the system. It is like a bike without an engine. You cannot expect a bike to run smoothly without a clutch plate.

That is how my website looked. I had content on my site but no list building system. I had few products but not enough for me to make big money. I had content but no links to my website to get me high search engine rankings. I had few things in place but I never tracked what is working and what is not working. I had no relationship building system in place to communicate with my subscribers.

This is what I did. I pulled out a white chart, got a pen and designed a complete process map. When I was finished I had a complete system right in front of me that included everything that my website needs to succeed online. My process map was simple. All it included were boxes and arrows all connected to each other.

Here are the following components I designed in my process map…

1. Squeeze page to build a list.

2. Follow up email marketing system to build relationship and sell products to my list.

3. Different products of several levels in the funnel ranging from $97 to $5000 that will earn me money at several points in the funnel.

4. Traffic generation system mainly using article marketing.

5. Viral marketing system to drive more leads and traffic.

6. Blog to place more targeted optimized content on my website.

All of these components were connected and I had my final plan in front of me.

I went under ground with this new plan and launched my third website which finally made me over $25,000.

Buying Other People’s Websites And Take Over Their Businesses

Getting an online business off the ground can be quite challenging. That is why many entrepreneur types prefer to buy existing businesses and take it over from there. This practice has many advantages that make it a worthwhile endeavor. Rather than starting from the ground up, one can actually piggyback in to the online business world with built in customers and clients. Of course, if this is the plan, there is a certain amount of respect to the original audience that one must pay. It may not be a good idea to come in and right away begin to change things. If you are looking for instant customization, this could set you back a few months. However, if you know what you are doing, then you probably bought the online business because you had a passion that led you to it, and in that regard, any changes you attempt could, in fact, be a good thing for the company moving forward.

While you organize your plans for expansion or renovation, whatever the case may be, it is also important that you honor commitments (within reason) with existing customers before instituting any new policies or procedures. Doing so can make for an easier transition. But once you have moved past the transition stages, then the fun can really begin. As you get comfortable with the lay of the virtual landscape, it becomes easier to implement your own ideas and take the site to the next level of what you had envisioned when you originally made the purchase.

Your first goal upon going into full management mode is to take an inventory of advertisers and advertising rates. Examine what other opportunities you have to generate revenue on the website by closely examining page views and comments (for content development purposes) and click through impressions (for advertising solicitations). Find the ways that you can turn traffic into revenue by examining what exists, offering additional value to your supporters, and discovering new opportunities.

It is important to realize the responsibility and the authority that you take on when purchasing a website for someone else. You definitely don’t want to reinvent the wheel. It’s easier and cheaper just to come up with your own site idea in that case. Still, you do want to find ways of improving the experience for everyone. There is a lot of uncertainty when a site sells out and transitions into a new level of ownership. Do your best to make sure your visitors are ready for the changes ahead.

Taking over a new business is a fun and exciting time, but it can also border on being too much if you approach it in the wrong manner. Keep your wits and do your best.

Organizing Bookmarks – A Surefire Way to Reduce the Clutter in Your Life

I just finished cleaning out and organizing the bookmarks which I have made in Firefox over the last 6 years or so. I want to encourage everyone else to do the same on your respective computers and browser of choice as I feel exhilarated and much less cluttered.

Do the same thing on your computer; take stock of what you need and if possible offload or delete anything which you don’t. Your computer will thank you in the form of speedier performance.

The same goes for your workspace. A cluttered desk is a cluttered and preoccupied mind, so throwing away what you don’t need and organizing the rest to get it out of site (out of site, out of mind) will substantially increase your productivity and likely improve your overall mood.

On a side note, I found a lot of ridiculous bookmarks which I don’t know how they found their way into my browser, but I also came across a lot of links to affiliate marketing, MMO (making money online), and similar sites from when I first got into online marketing years and years ago.

It reminded me firsthand that there is a lot of garbage out there and there are a lot of less than reputable scammers out there looking to take advantage of people who are eager and even desperate to learn how to make money online. I’m thinking back to my origins in affiliate marketing where I paid $50 for a 20 page eBook which was completely crap in terms of what I “learned”.

That’s why you’ve got to exercise your due diligence whenever you’re buying an information product online, particularly one which tackles an oftentimes exploited niche. A lot of people get scammed each and every day but because they are so desperate to learn about the workings of what it takes to make real money online, they are willing to let themselves get scammed time and time again in the hopes that they’ll see some actual money coming their way by doing the promised and oftentimes guaranteed steps.

The 20 page eBook which I purchase for a hefty $50 literally taught how to make money online using Adwords plus affiliate marketing. The process was to go to Clickbank, get an affiliate link, create an ad in Adwords with your affiliate link as the link, and count your money because it worked oh so well. This is something I could have learned on the Adwords website in about 5 minutes for free, yet I shelled out money to purchase their “secret” advertised method which didn’t even work. Live and learn.
